How BigKeys are used in other reception classes

Year 1 Teacher – what surprised her most

"My Year 1 class is a mixed ability class where some children are challenging.

"The first impression I had of BigKeys was that it could be really useful for writing activites to encourage all children.

"About a third of the children in my class have used a computer keyboard before and are happy with a standard keyboard.

"Approximately ¼ of the children have a special need and BigKeys worked very well for them.

"But what surprised me most was the fact that the remainder of the children improved vastly with the introduction of BigKeys LX. They were not statemented, and they were not particularly familiar with a keyboard and they came on in leaps and bounds.

"The BigKeys made a difference to the word processing activities.

"Children with short attention spans were more interested in the BigKeys than a standard keyboard, and found the keyboard easy to use.

"Not all keyboards are the same."
